1. Who we are

The Lost Tablets (thelosttablets.com) is operated by Jiří Stehlík, a sole trader registered in the Czech Republic under the Trade Licensing Act, company ID (IČO) 22597646, with registered address Hostašovice 251, Hostašovice, Czech Republic. You can reach us at thelosttablets@seznam.cz.

These terms apply to every purchase made on this website. By placing an order you agree to them.

2. What we sell

We sell digital editions: books delivered as PDF files and as audiobooks in MP3 format. Nothing is printed or shipped. The current editions are Inanna's Descent, Atrahasis, and the Complete Collection (The Lost Ages, Atrahasis and Inanna's Descent). The contents of each edition are described on the product page.

The books retell real, documented ancient texts and the history of how they were found. The connections they draw between traditions are interpretations, not established archaeological fact. The books are for education and personal interest.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown on the product page in US dollars, or in pounds sterling for visitors from the United Kingdom. The price shown at checkout is the total you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe; we accept the card and wallet methods offered at checkout. We never see or store your full card details.

The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. An invoice is sent to the email address you give at checkout.

4. Delivery

Download links for every file you bought appear on the confirmation page and are emailed to you immediately after payment. The links do not expire, and no account is needed. If you do not receive them within an hour, check your spam folder and then write to thelosttablets@seznam.cz.

5. Licence

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to read and listen to the files for your own, non-commercial use, on any of your devices. You may not resell, share, upload, publicly perform or otherwise distribute the files or any part of them. All rights in the texts, recordings and cover art remain with their owners.

6. Refunds and right of withdrawal

30-day money-back guarantee. If an edition is not what you expected, write to thelosttablets@seznam.cz within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No reason is needed. We refund to the original payment method within 14 days of your request.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also have the statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. The 30-day guarantee above is more generous and applies on top of it; nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

7. Faulty files and complaints

If a file does not download, will not open, or does not match its description, write to thelosttablets@seznam.cz. We will send a working file or, if we cannot, refund you. Your rights in respect of defective digital content under the Czech Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Coll.) and the consumer law of your country are not affected.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.

9. Personal data

To fulfil your order we process your name, email address and payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe and order emails are sent through our email provider. We use the data only to deliver your purchase, issue the invoice, handle refunds and answer your messages, and keep it as long as accounting law requires. You can ask for access, correction or deletion at thelosttablets@seznam.cz.

10. Disputes and governing law

Please contact us first; most issues are solved by email. Consumers may also turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), the body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes: adr.coi.cz.

These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on this page when you placed your order.
